Vol. 3 and Hope are still my favorites of theirs. :P never been much of a nu-metal fan, well, since I was 8 or 9 years old anyway.

I love the verses and drumming outro in Killpop, but the lyrics and singing mostly ruin the rest of the song's potential. This album is filled with decent instrumental parts, the main problem is most of Corey Taylor's contributions. Some of these lyrics are among the worst I've heard from the genre.

The title track from AHIG is a jam and a half

Some of these lyrics are among the worst I've heard from the genre.[2] they drag the album down so much. It's hard to imagine the same bloke made HOGAB, which had some excellent lyricism.

the lyrics are awful but it's almost like you guys forgot how bad the lyrics were on their debut

I never liked the debut that much even when I was seriously into the band, I was more of an Iowa/Vol 3 person

The worst and most stupid thing is that they've done a song like that before with MUCH better lyrics (vermillion). Why they regress, i don't know

Everyone once thought Iowa was the darkest, grimiest, heaviest, most disgusting album ever created and don't even try to deny it

This and the debut have a few great songs but are my least favorites of theirs overall. Their mid-career albums are their strongest, where they were actually maturing and progressing.

Vermillion is easily one of their best tracks

@Talons definitely agree, now it feels like they've regressed a bit unfortunately

Pretty much all of the softer, atmospheric tracks from Vol. 3 are among their best.

And then you have the meathead fans who think Slipknot are the heaviest band around because they've never heard BM or DM saying "UGGGH I HATE IT WHEN COREY SINGS ITS SO GAY SERIOUSLY THEY SOLD OUT AFTER VOL 3"

I liked the debut more than Iowa as less of Iowa "clicks" with me. Vol.3 is their best by a mile for me though. Best lyrics, songs and production (the production just fits the record, that's why it's so good)

Now Rubin's in the business of ruining the production of classic bands comeback albums like Metallica and Sabbath

I remember when I borrowed my little bother's copy of 13 and I couldn't get over how compressed the production was. It really makes the album painful to listen to.

He's fine with pop and rap, just not rock and metal

Californication also suffers a bit
