I particularly like how it's much more focused musically. Too short, but very focused. A dense sound for a standard rock instrumentarium.

i've never been so disappointed with a new album release in my life. i was so excited for this album
for years since WITTMF is easily a 5 but wtf happened here, some of the lyrics on here are so
cringeworthy i have to turn off the music because i feel legitimately uncomfortable from second hand
embarrassment. and keith was easily in my top 5 lyricists previous to this album. it's such a massive
step down i can't even wrap my mind around why he would purposely handicap his lyrical talent like
that.

I think running a label, supporting bands with numerous splits and getting older are factors that can be taken into account.

I think the lyrics themselves are really quite good. However the delivery of said lyrics in the
songs doesn't do them much service a lot of the time, making lines that read beautifully come off as
cringe-worthy in the context of a song.
However Keith is a much stronger lyricist when he focuses on acute details events and feelings in a
more cerebral way than just telling stories, which can work for some poets/lyricists but not as much
for him.
Did anyone else feel more distanced here than on their other work?

I was having trouble describing before what irks me so much about the lyrics here but yeah this is exactly it

I'm fairly certain I have all of their songs except for like two which I don't care for

i'm not sure if it's because of my father's untimely passing or what, but i've been listening to what it takes... a lot lately and it's been helping. an idea is especially poignant right now.
this album simply doesn't compare. i've only heard it twice but it's nowhere near as engaging. i've noticed a lot of people have been pretty disappointed with this. but expectations were high, and expectations are a bitch
