Symphony, FCP, and Mouths are way, wayyyy better on Dopp, but Whacko Jacko was better on the Self Titled. MLSW on Dopp is my favorite song by TFOT.

The only thing Phantom does better is the cool little melodic 2 minute mark in Chapter 3 and the heavy as fuck breakdown on Chapter 5.

yeah they used to close every set with that breakdown, he would just loop that guitar thing and do vox it was bad ass man i miss these guys pre-manipulator

i only got into them post-manipulator and saw them 3 times and im pretty sure they closed with that every time and it was fucking amazing
cept for the last show, i think they closed with sledgehammer which was awesome too

yeah they always opened with Chapter 1 and ended with Chapter 5. At the Chicago show they came back for 3 more songs after though. The night really ended with What Sound Does a Mastadon Make? and it was glorious.
and yar Ghostship > Phantom. Phantom has cooler atmosphere and its slicker but the rawness is just fucking gone. I needs me some rough production.
|
| |
the last time i saw them was when they toured supporting POTH
after a while i just didn't feel like i needed to go anymore. they were still killing it on stage i'm sure but i had just been to enough of their shows for a while.
