I will now if I can get my damn monitor to stop turning off. It blacks out like every 45 seconds it's literally the most annoying thing ever. I need to chuck it and get a new one.

This is pretty damn good. Don't know what I heard that first time I listened; sounds like an easy 3.5 possibly a 4 just based on the first couple tracks so far - if they keep it up!

They keep it up until track #11. Then it goes down the shitter.

Hate it when artists do that. 11 tracks woulda been enough to stop at and have it be a perfect album

11,12 are horrible, 13 is a nice interlude, 14 sucks, 15 is overrated imo, 16 is the best song on the album and 17 is pointless

So it's pretty bad at the end

Nah you got it wrong, 9 and 11 are horrible, 12 is decent, 14 has one of the best choruses of the album, and 15 is right up with Matthew Effect for best song. 16 is okay but I never got into it, and I think I only listened to 17 once.

The instrumentation on the album is what makes this worth listening to. It's above average and better than I expected, but the lyrical themes are the weakness on the album. "This is the Time (Ballast)" is all about letting go, but for the rest of the album it seems like they don't follow their own advice. Much of the album comes off like they have a real ax to grind against religion, with "Christ Copyright" being the only original criticism while the others are angsty and belabor the point. It gives me the impression they think they're a lot smarter than what they really are.

Yeah, the lyrics are a bit preachy

Their live show is great, and I don't pay attention to most of the lyrics. But if there's one thing I love to skip in rock music, it's ballads. I can only think of a couple ballads that I actually enjoy, and 9 is one of them that I don't.
This is nowhere near as preachy as Thrice's Beggars or Major/Minor and I still really like those albums (well, besides the duds on Beggars)
