well no, I mean everything's relative in terms of taste right? like in grade 8 I thought Killswitch Engage was the best thing ever and I probably would have given some shit like As Daylight Dies a 5 but now I've heard so many better things that it's gone down to a 3 (I think)
people are more easily impressed when they haven't heard a lot of stuff. they're also more easily disappointed, and for broader reasons than a more experienced listener.
I mean, this album is really good but I'm not gonna 5 it like I would have in a heartbeat 5 years ago

exactly. you might hear this album and think it's the best thing ever, but then hear albums you like even more and your taste changes.
