I'm not sure why, but I really like this album. Unfortunately the Strokes haven't done much worth listening to after it, and sooo many crappy bands have done the retro new-wave thing lately (The Killers anyone?) that I've kind of been put off listening to it.

I agree with this review. Many people wrongly say this album is a classic but it isn't. Funny how it was supposed to change rock, instead they dropped off the face of the earth.

I would agree with that statement, its just no one cares about them now and I can't see that changing unless they come out with some blazing singles.

they took a break and albert released a load of rubbish. but i'll always love first impressions, "ize of the world" kinda makes me think they could make it with another album, for instance.
also, their drummer is a GBV fan.
