This release was odd to me. Seems like a lot of people find this to be original when I could just grab 3 or 4 CD's in my collection that sound exactly (if not better) like this. Maybe it's just me but I couldn't get into it. I'll give This Is The Time some props, however. Very catchy lol

I think my rating might be a bit distorted because I heard all of these songs live before I heard them recorded, and they're a better live than recorded band.

This is decent at best. Really bores the living fuck outta me and is a bit preachy lyrically.

Yeah, this really sounds like Fair To Midland. I like it.

it like fair to midland goes less worldly and has fake sounding instruments

Only thing separating this from a 4 are the weak lyrics and some filler songs... This is a fun record though.

it sounds like fair to midland decided to be worse and write songs about ipads, if this guys voice wasn't amazing it would be a 2 for me

I actually still enjoy this genre, but damn this sound is dated

I would bet that most of this album was written and recorded 2-3 years ago, but I honestly haven't heard much like this. If you have, point me in that direction

It was first released last year, so that's totally probable. When I saw it on the top albums list, I was puzzled...what the heck happened to make so many people listen to a year-old underground rock album en masse like that? But apparently it was re-released?

Dunno why but I'm really suspecting that all the praise/votes actually come the same person (safe a few exceptions obviously), like what happened to the last Tony Danza Extravaganza

Ballast became a top 5 hit, they fit signed to a major label and digital streams were finally made. It was a huge rerelease effort by the label according to tunelab

I am not impartial in my rating, but that is allowed. Isn't it?

Great album, though I do wish their early works were accessible. Shelter, Vandura, Save You/Save Me, and their two EP releases are almost impossible to find online (Vandura, Save You/Save Me, and one of their EP were found to be on those weird download hub blogspots that exist in the deep dark pits of the internet) but as for their other works theres just nowhere online for them :/

motherFUCK this jams HARD
vocalist seems like hes got some Fair to Midland influence

I know the band has said that they're fans of Dead Letter Circus and Karnivool, but I'm not sure about Fair to Midland. I definitely hear the similarities, though I'd have to give the edge to Fair to Midland.
