No wonder the new album sounds like it does. Copeland has a hand in this. Too bad they suck.

Their album previous to this one, I liked...it was nice to hear something soft for a change.

To bad this album crosses from soft to just gay.

This new UnderOATH album is waaaay to popish....im not sayin they sold out or anything, but in a way it seems like it, i loved their older stuff with Dallas n the amazing guitars...(the Last is one of their best songs) ever since The Changing of the Times, i almost completely stopped listning to them, i mean i dont mind w/e genre they are now, i dont mind the sound, i'll have to admit at times i like it...but when u go from Death Metal/Metal to this....its just wrong

Hey "Buddy" I noticed that you've been a member since August of last year and managed to post 3,881 times. Peel your *** out of your computer chair, live a little and drop the attitude of "well I have such a strong opinon on everything so I am right and everyone knows nothing."

It's not that no one knows nothing, it's that 85% of the people here know nothing. I've been here nearly a year, so 3,881 really isn't very much. I work and go to school, hang out with friends, go to shows, and play in a band, so I'm not a complete loser with my "***" stuck to the chair.

Thanks for registering for the sole purpose of making that laughable and pathetic 'attack' on me though :thumb:

You guys are funny...someone posted a review of a cd...and you managed to bash this new kid...I found it quite humorous...I have a feeling that the newbie probably IM's a lot, so that is where a lot of the acronyms come from...as for me...I am a huge fan of the new underoath. I really like their new album...but that's just my opinion...in which eveyone is entitled. I just thought I would give my 2 cents on the humor of the newbie bashing. I would have to agree with the person who started this post in that the 1st song is the best and then the 4th is the second runner up....these posts seem to run off line a bit from the original topic...but that's just what I've percieved....post on.

Track 1 is the only song I like, and 6 is listenable.

I like the entire cd. I enjoy underoath, even if their other stuff is better.
ok here it goes, everyone can call a band whatever they want.....did you ever think about that? someone says this band is an emo band, another person call call them screamo, another could call them a hardcore christian/screamo band. but all in all, why do you people bitch at eachother about your opinions? seriously jesus christ. its an opinion, not a fact, so dont try to prove anyone wrong cause you cant prove right or wrong in opinions.
I only read the thread up to this point, but I agree with this statement so much I had to reply. I call Underoath screamo, if you 'REAL emo' fans don't like it go listen to hardcore (sorry, real emo) and don't force your opinions on someone else. That cool? didn't think so. Ah well.

As for the album, from what I've heard it seems worth buying but if I'm honest the whole Christian thing kind of put me off. But that doesn't make the music any worse so I might still buy it. Re-inventing your exit is a fantastic song aswell.
Well I'm glad you signed up to make that worthless post. I'm going to explain something to you and then I'm going to make fun of you. Ready? Ok here we go.

Explanation
I will agree with you that Spencer is a better fit with Underoath... now that they're playing THIS kind of music. The music sucks and all, but he fits with them. Dallas would be totally out of place here, and he was out of place at times on Changing of Times. He didn't necessarily do a "bad" job, it's just that he didn't fit with the music on certain songs, but I'm guessing you've just heard "When the Sun Sleeps" so you wouldn't know. Listen to a song like "A Message for Adrienne", though, and he sounds fine. If you listen to their old, black metal influenced stuff, he fits PERFECTLY with the band. It's not about who's better than who, it's about who's better at WHAT than the other one. I haven't heard Spencer sing any of the Changing of Times songs, but my guess would be that he would work with those as well, as he fit fine in This Runs Through, his old metalcore band.

Making fun of you

- Screemo? I think you mean screamo, which Underoath are not. Don't try and argue this with me because you very very obviously don't know what screamo is.

- idk. wtf. lol. omg. wtf, this is gay!. enuff.

- I doubt your friend listens to hardcore. Maybe he pops in an Atreyu CD occasionally and calls it hardcore, but you do not listen to this genre and not know who Underoath is.

- Grammatical error overload
you might think this album sucks and that the band is going down the drain, but the fact is...who said that every album they are going to release is gonna sound like this? they were just at a different stage in their life when they recorded this one. oh well, i like the album. but i do agree that they were never straight up hard core.

I'm all for change, I embrace change. I don't embrace a band that had a great thing going for them changing to the flavor of the week sound and throwing out everything they had evolved into.

they may have changed to the flavor of the week, but they havent been on MTV yet, which is usually the destroyer of good bands. also, are you still a fan

also, maybe this is just another part of their "evolution". seriously. they might just be trying out different things and soon they will have "been-there-done-that" to their current genre/style

I saw them on tour with Coheed and Cambria and 3. I was there in a party of six people, and I was only one of two of us that liked them. I think they are awesome. Nobody else I know are really into the screaming thing, but I just can't get enough of it.

Dude. MTV doesn't ruin bands. Bands ruin themselves for a chance to get on MTV. Underoath hasn't done either. Just because they threw in some electronics and took off all edge doesn't mean they sold out. It could mean other things. Like maybe all of the bands members were transformed into monkeys. Monkeys who listen to generic popcore. You don't know. It could be anything.

I'm pretty sure they have been on MTV, and if they haven't, it doesn't matter because they're already in strong with that fanbase. Of course, I'm still a fan of their old stuff. I'll go see them live if they come through here just to hear some old songs.
