what am I supposed to put an asterisk there and say "In my limited experience blah blah blah I think what came before and after was better blah blah blah funk rules techno/Chicago house rules blah blah blah"

but that makes the review no fun to read because no one wants to read a poorly-researched history lesson on a Todd Terje review. as the man himself says, "It's album time!"

Try some Breakbot, Louis La Roche, Lindstrøm, Classixx and some Prins Thomas

And no, but if you have limited experience with something it's kind of pointless to put forth an
argument that has no weight behind it, because it's an argument that should only be made with
experience. Because that does make for poor research. It's taking your experience with one or two
albums and applying it to all - that's just shoddy journalism

i was just about to rec some lindstrom because http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/53090/Lindstrom-Smalhans/ other than that, classixx, new daft punk, and also some chic, my knowledge of disco is almost non-existent

I mean all I did was say that RAM took itself way too seriously and that this is the exact opposite and I say explicitly that they sound nothing alike aside from the term "disco" but whatevs

mm yea. i kinda felt you also used this review to point out how you did not like RAM all that much. thought it was a bit

strange to do that in another review. oh well, it's well written. and as said the album is actually really good and because

of you i have now heard it. so thanks! (:
