idk how any of you sat through this entire album.
good review hype

nice review, man. the front page is very metal-y right now.
|
| |
^ is that symptom album any good?
|
| |
usually I don't use album covers as a reference, but this one actually looks like it's bad
|
| |
yeah death metal usually is pretty good about that though
shitty cover = shitty band more often than not

When I realized the title for the new Massacre album was Back from Beyond, I thought it would have been B-sides/Outtakes from the original From beyond album. I liked that album too, though there were certain other dm releases that eclipsed that in both quality and musicianship. From reading the review I won't expect a lot from this, but I guess I'll still give it a go.

listened to the first 2 songs and honestly they were pretty fucking good but i can see 14 songs of it being beyond tedious
also the hyper-clean drum production isnt doing them any favors, part of the appeal of FB was that old school grit
the vocals are good but i almost get a deathcore vibe
and seriously that album cover just makes it seem like theyre just grasping at their former glory
|
| |
its reasonable to judge albums based on their cover art
|
| |
Lol the music video reminds me of Metalocalypse.
|
| |
fucking metal
7 this or die fags

By reading only the first paragraph of your review I know how much it's not reliable. I understand every kind of criticism and so on...but From Beyond is a masterpiece of thrash/death and your judgment is clouded by your personal likes.

your judgment is clouded by your personal likes
Could say the same about you.
Music is purely subjective, everyone's judgement is clouded by their own tastes and there is literally
no way around it.

Was just about to post the same, damn, what is it with this thread and you reading my mind/beating me to everything.

great review, i agree with every word. i knew this was gonna be bad after listening to the first song. the riffs are embarrassing. then track 2 started and it was just the same. boring album, riffs that sound like they were written in a jam. i actually liked the vocals though, the rest is just lame. in fact, the best thing i can say about BFB is Rick Rozz's legendarily hilarious divebombing solo style which hasn't changed in the slightest since the late 80s. so bad it's funny. pos'd

good review, Will Not Check

"If we're really being honest here it’s not that hard to admit that Massacre were never actually that good. From Beyond has gained a lot of infamy over time, but, compared to what else was coming out in 1991, it just doesn’t really compare"
wtf?
|
| |
yea from beyond has so many good riffs even if it was outdated it didnt even matter
also fuckin corpsegrinder m/
|
| |
its definitely not bad and there are some sweet riffs, but there was so much better stuff coming out at the time.
