Compositions have lengthened substantially, and the minor but noticeable focus on melody has been almost completely erased. Caverns of Katabasis is more or less the realisation of what Gilmore was attempting to achieve beforehand, more akin to Disembowelment than to Incantation, but not an imitation of either.

This is a really important section and I'm glad that you included this is the introductory paragraph.

The drums are untriggered and organic, the guitar tone is raw yet bountiful and the record’s bottom end is powerful enough to register on the Richter Scale.

Another important element to your review. When experienced dm listeners read it, they're going to be looking for key components such as this. So I'm glad you included in a timely manner.

Most of the faster sections serve as precursors to the thunderous, doomy assaults that make up a huge proportion of the album, akin to the tremors that precede a volcanic eruption before monolithic plumes of ash and magma blacken the sky and intoxicate the atmosphere.

rev line of the year?

Great job throughout.

really digging it so far, the review mentions that this is more death/doom akin to diSEMBOWELMENT as compared with the more Incantation-influenced sound of last year's record, and that is spot on

love me some death/doom, and the hyper-atmospheric and spacey sound here is probably my favorite variety of the subgenre
