Yup! My favorite graphics, control, sound, and plus the theme that plays during the ending credits is my favorite video game composition of all time. It easily rivals many of the best classical pieces out there imo

While I find this to be their best effort and easily one of the best CDs ever released, I can see where someone else may think otherwise since Symbolic is far from their most progressive and one of Death's least brutal albums. However, the songwriting on here is brilliant with Perennial Quest, Without Judgment, Crystal Mountain, Empty Words, Zero Tolerance and the title track representing some of the finest songs ever done. Unlike their other releases there is not a filler song on the album and the crystal clear production only adds to the enjoyment in my humble opinion. To each his own!

Only weak track Death ever had on an album was the Painkiller cover imo. Prob the greatest songwriter who ever lived.

@Dethkike: Agreed 100%, like you said, a situation where a fan might not think this is their best album just prefers the

style of the previous ones and it's just a matter of choice, but for me yeah this is their best

Well, in my opinion, Story to Tell and Out of Touch are pretty weak, but come to think of it.. Human contains no weak tracks... so I must self amend my comment. I actually think the Priest cover is quite alright but go figure. I am not a big fan of the first three CDs (although they each have their moments) so I won't bother commenting on them. Except for Unquestionable Presence, Symbolic is about as great as it gets!! Every song on the album is either above average (Sacred Serenity), excellent (1,000 Eyes, Misanthrope) or brilliant (everything else)!

Guess I'm alone in liking Story to Tell and Out of Touch.

No, for once you are not alone. I like both of them quite a bit.

Out of Touch is awesome, especially that Atheist-sounding part at the end

It just lacks an opener/closer combo on the level of this or Human.
