>says he stopped listening after two songs

>then goes on to say "Seemed like the same thing as their last two albums with much less interesting instrumentals. I really do enjoy these types of vox, and love some of La Dispute's lyrics, but the vox don't really progress too much in terms of melody and rhythm with this band, while the instrumentals get dumbed down. Don't see how that is progress."

also, Jordan Dreyer is a GREAT writer

So I admitted to listening to two songs, then typed out what I thought about those two songs. Where's your problem stemming from? Also, if the end of your post is meant for me, I never said anything about his writing skills.

"Whereas No Place was more of the mindset of a angry teenager taking out his angst on the things that happened in his house, this is more adult orientated in its themes of marriage and its demise. "

whoa hey now. No Place is amazing. Lyrics touching on things like neglectful parents and the nature of love and sex doesn't sound like teen angst to me.

I'm not saying its a bad thing, I'm saying the state of mind that the matter being discussed in No Place is much more relatable to that of say, people under the age of 20. Whereas this album is moreso relateable to people above the age of 20.

I really enjoyed No Place, don't get me wrong here. My lastfm sadly displays how much I listened to it.

Taken the elements I didn't really like from Wildlife and made a full album of it... I'll give it a few more listens but at the moment can't say I like it.

Are the lyrics anywhere yet? Most websites I go to only have 1 or 2 of the songs with lyrics.

edit: nevermind found it on their website probably should have check their first.

Even with the lyrics this album was uninteresting, but some songs were good like First Reactions After Falling Through the Ice.

This rules!.. but the album is kinda
disproportionately mellow and aggressive. If
I'm recalling it correctly, id like their
aggressive edge to be more evenly spread in the
second half.

Woman(Reading) live was fucking fantastic, A++

They were spot on live, and Dreyer is a spectacle live to watch. Especially on the songs from "Somewhere at the Bottom," he basically takes on a whole different persona. Its really cool.
