yeah totally the production is amazing. you'd expect this album would be actually be a harder one to produce because it's a lot less homogenous than their previous releases but it's without a doubt their best sounding album imo

The average ratings for Meshuggah albums always surprises me. Most are under a 4. I think this album in particular is under-rated.

Don't take the averages too seriously. Tons of people troll rate so most records averages are pretty skewed.

Plus Meshuggah just turns a lot of people off completely

Eh, fuck those people. Anyone who can't enjoy some dissonance and odd rhythms can go suck a fat one.

I think it's the lack of feels and stuff. Even though i definitely feel the pissed off feels with this

Atmosphere is a massive part of Meshuggah's music. That tribal, robotic yet very chemical intensity. Hard to put into words really. Meshuggah stands as an unique experience.

That's the reason I like them. Some people just don't feel that though and I respect that. It can come across as a bit robotic. 'Bleed' for example is just a step too far for me, although i still like the song

Yeah ironically maybe their most popular song is bland in comparison to most. Alas, I guess why it's more popular among the masses.

not at all bland

it's definitely one of their most aggressive and threatening tracks. not monotone at all, the textures are strong.
