Elder and Oak has one of my favourite couplets on here
is that the sound of a holy ROOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAARRRRR
...or a thief stealing through the back door?

And she wore a white dress
A white ribbon in her hair
Spinning as she pirouettes
Can't remember her face

Favourite lyric is hard but I dunno maybe "Unending stark/A lit steeple against unending dark/And someone sprayed this on the wall/"I love it here", I don't, at all"

^ another fave for sure. i also love that line "can't remember her face" - that one really resonates with me, especially as i grow older and have trouble remembering people i lost.

And also "do you live for the love you've found/some sad slow song to lay you down/and still your weary worried heart/throw light upon your darkest dark" but yeah really all his lyrics are tops
I highly recommend their debut album as well people hate it for some reason

this album is a goldmine of fantastic lyrics. every line is punchy and well worded
if their debut is even remotely like this i'm sure i'll love it tbh. i'm a huge sucker for this kind of post-rock-ish moody scottish indie rock

I really dislike their debut but their ep is really solid! Also yea this album is ripe with amazing lyrics. Lay Me Down is my favorite for that.

Debut has shit production but the songwriting is just as good as on here
We Sing Through the Bombs, Off With Their Heads, We Were a Roman Candle, and espesh Foreign Thoughts are top-tier Fireworks songs
and re: the ep In Excelsis Deo is their best song agreed

There is truly too much music in this world.
I still haven't heard this.

Too much music is the best problem ever.
