Definitely a good summer album. This album is definitely simple compared to the band's other work, but it's effective.

It's more post rock driven this time around. Not the best I've heard of course but it's well done and beautiful, though a bit overdone at times.

I concur with darknoctus. This is underwhelming in studio format, however live (saw them a week ago) it is pathos pathos pathos

there are genuinely some stunning moments on this but for every stunning moment there's so much boring stuff to sift through. as far as shoegaze records go this one just outright refuses to be the least bit adventurous.

I saw these guys supporting Opeth last November, they encored with "Delivrance", which is an absolutely beautiful track-both on record and in a live setting. My dad ended up applauding the bassist and commenting how fluent the music sounded.
I've since given this album a few listens in full. Honestly, I've concluded that it seems to be a more seamless record than 'Les Voyages de L'Ame, just not by much. I guess my personal highlight is "Delivrance", though "Opale" is a great track too.
