Great work man.
This was not an easy discog, but the band is very underrated and hopefully these reviews will help a few choose to give them a go.
As for this album, I still haven't tried it and I need to get on that.
Next up, the incredibly underrated Focus or perhaps Welsh rock band Man? :P

Or Caravan :P Maybe at some point I will do all three, it will take me less time that doing Hawkwind.

I REALLY want to do a discog review but it takes me so long to write one review... any tips from the master?

I suppose you just start at the back and work your way forward :P
But in truth, you need to remember that the band is always evolving from start to finish and you can't compare the album you're on with albums they haven't released yet. That's just unfair on the band :P

How about on writing the review? How long does it take you to do one usually?

Depends, sometimes I can spew a review out in a few hours (My Haken review took less than three from first word to final edit). But some reviews have taken me weeks to finish, the later ones of my Hawkwind being a good example.
But when I do a series, I sort of keep the same structure for each essay. Including a snippet on what happened being this album and the last.

Congrats man for your great reviews and most of all your perseverance.

Ah fair enough, sounds a bit like me then. I guess I'll just have to try and get into a habit, because it's always satisfying to put a review out there.
I usually build up a load of ideas in my head over time then spew them all out in one, when I actually manage to sit down to do it.

Yeah, occasionally I will see something and I will be able to review it instantly because I know what to say, Haken and Gun were like that. So was Hawkwind, I just decided then that someone should review everything they did. Considering they are up there with the greats of 1970's prog (although they play space rock, prog is like a cousin to them).

I don't see how Hawkwind aren't regarded in the same light as bands like Camel, literally every psychedelic band after Hawkwind is influenced by them and they were a truly trailblazing and unique band.
Before you reviewed them there were only about 3 Hawkwind reviews on this site so it's awesome you did. I'm sure it's boosted people's awareness of them.

It is rewarding. Like having sex with a prostitute and then finding out it is free.

Indeed I am.
Being a law student whilst moving house means that most of my time is filled with stuff that is not related to music. However I do wish to finish it once I get a free day or two.
