This alt is pretty old dude, check the creation date.
Anyways, Dream Brother is without a doubt the best closer I've ever heard.

@ShinjiIkari
check out the last line of the lyrics dude

I see what you mean and I definitely love that lyric.
I guess I just never found it as important as the overall theme. The overall theme is that the real father is living another life, and abandoned his old one. The part about the father possibly being dead isn't at all important since the rest of the track describes him as a lively person who abandoned his previous lover.

Buckley left alot of enigmatic lyrics behind but its pointless to delve into it too much because he was incredibly poetic as a character just watch his interviews

Like my interpretation of the song was that Jeff Buckley was reflecting on why people shouldn't abandon their spouses when a kid is in the mix up of it all.
I think he even said that he wrote the track to make sure his friend wouldn't leave his lover who was pregnant(?) but I could be wrong.
I don't see it at all about being death necessarily, the only thing about the last lyric that I think might connect to death is that possibly the kid was so separated from his real father because of his fathers other life that he left his previous one for, that when the real father died the kid didn't even know it for years.
edit : Sorry Ricochet I typed that comment before the page refreshed

It's not about death, i know the theme of the song. If you are aware of Jeff's childhood and who his father was, it becomes easy to figure out what he sings about. But that last line is so foreshadowing it gives me chills every time.
Don't know if it's the best closer ever but it's damn close.
I hear your words and i know your pain, your head in your hands and a kiss on the lips of another. Your eyes to the ground and the world is spinning round for ever.
The chills man, the chills. Incredibly beautiful lyrics.

I'm a newer fan, I just got into him like a few days ago. I didn't know about his father situation until recently.
Indeed great lyrics.
I only have about 128 ratings so for me it's my favorite closer ever haha.
So many chills. Probably my favorite vocal performance on this, even if it's not the most technical.

"got my red glitter coffin man just need one last nail" is pretty creepy too.. as if hes ready to die just needs to say that last statement

So do you guys consider Eternal Life one of the worst here or one of the best? As soon as I heard it the first time I was kind of expecting the fanbase to view it as weak because how different it is compared to the rest of the record. Doesn't quite have the ... hehe .. Grace of the rest of the album, but I dig it a lot, I think it's top 4 honestly.
