I once poked a tarantula's legs in a tree trunk - I couldn't see its body and I thought they were worms or something and then it crawled out when I poked em. Pretty sure that's where my arachnophobia comes from

When I was fruit picking in me backpacking days a huntsman landed on me chest and scurried up towards my face, it was horrific. I shouted "fuck!!!!" Which led to the farmer coming over asking if I was alright. He laughed and called me a typical 'pom' so being a typical pom I head butted him. The last part of that story wasn't true.

spiders are awesome - they kill the thing i hate (mosquitoes), plus they're cool-looking. it's centipedes i can't stand.

@gyro i've got no problem with spiders if they aren't in my house. and yeah centipedes are scary as fuck. We get these foot long, yellow legged poisonous centipedes here that are very much the stuff of nightmares.

i remember i would go barefoot walking around the country at night for a fair part of my life, and so this one time i found myself a high powered led light thing, so yeah took it with me, thinkin bloody beaut might be able to find some true blue wildlife. Switched it on walking up a hill and all i see down by more poor naked feet are millions of baby spider eyes fuckin EVERYWHERE, bloody gave me a bit of a fright hahah. oh but don't get me started on the time i put my foot right on a king brown, i swear that fucker chased me all the way back home. And then this other time there was an inland taipan in the house, dad loved that because it saved him money on rat poison, well yeah fuckin oath it is only the most venomous snake in the world.
