Really like this album. One of my favorite and most consistent jams of 2013, for sure.
Totally agreed on the liking of Devin Oliver's voice "more than I should".
However, Violent Bounce and We're Not In Kansas Anymore are (in my opinion) two of the stand-outs on the album. Solid review.

Michigan sextet I See Stars refine their polarizing electronicore style on oft-delayed 4th LP 'New Demons'. This may be their darkest & heaviest album, yet it is also the one which relies on electronics the most. Very well produced by Joey Sturgis, both Devin Oliver's clean vocals & Zach Johnson's screams have improved. Most impressive is the way tunes are able to sustain their upward of 4 minute lengths, with I See Stars allowing their songs to breathe & play out. You couldn't exactly call it innovative, but this is an assured LP that isn't far from the top of its genre! Recommended Tracks: Violent Bounce, Follow Your Leader, Who Am I? & Judith Rules.

I'm still mad at my mom that she made me stay home from a local showcase with I See Stars, We Came as Romans and For the Fallen Dreams when I was 14. That's scenester cred flushed away right there.
