At least we have Sufferer to hear more Cory, if that band makes more music

I really didn't enjoy Sufferer as much as I had hoped I would but I would very much like to hear Kurt and Cory together again

Sounds like the drummer quitting was the last straw.

Did he quit ? I thought he was just, as far as we were concerned, going to do the other band too

He said he was leaving the band and while there were a lot of factors leading up to this happening that ultimately the decision was up to him. I mean it's possible I could have misinterpreted what he meant but it sounds like his decision to depart was the final straw that broke the camel's back. Otherwise I don't see why he would announce he was leaving the band if they were going to declare a breakup anyways.

Damn they announced the band breaking up like an hour after he announced he was leaving

He probably gave them a heads up that he was leaving and the rest of them talked it over amongst themselves. I couldn’t imagine them surviving without Kurt AND Arrington anyway.

That's what you get when you kick Kurt. Apparently they were having a tough time drawing crowds without him, too. But yeah I can totally imagine Arrington quitting after DIVISI, dude has incredible drum skills which were wasted on that album.

@stuck when I saw them on their Divisi tour, it was way out in a random suburb to a crowd of only about 50. Nowhere near sold out. and everyone just went wild for their encore when they played old stuff (not divisi). Should have known that was foreshadowing.

I mean they kind of had it coming with such a drastic change in sound

There was just something so youthful about their pre-divisi albums. Virtuosic, zany, angsty, cynical, etc. It was like they were trying too hard and I loved every second of it.

i personally liked Divisi for what it was. this stuff is definitely on another level in almost all accounts. I'll always be disappointed that No Place never got a true follow-up since it seemed like they were building up to something absolutely massive in scale
