Sweet ass review dude. And yes the angsty lyrics are awesome even if one can't relate to them at all. The imagery they create is amazing.

I had a Hayley Williams one but for some reason people here weren't taking my opinion seriously

Realm, believe it or not this is quite different from DGD. I couldn't have said the same for Conversation Piece, but this record has its own flair.

@Omaha

great review. very well written and gives a pretty good image of this album

I still find myself disliking the spoken word, especially the two tracks that are just him talking. it works better on the songs where it's intermixed with everything else and actually musical & rhythmically intense. I really didn't like the spoken word in CP AT ALL because it was very predictable. they put it in like 4-5 songs that started off faster and more intense, then they slowed it down and it was pretty much a huge drag.

I found the musicianship to be really smart and excellent here - such great melodies from the guitars and vocals. blows CP out of the water for me as I found that to be more typical post-hardcore fare whereas this is actually something way more engaging & intelligently crafted. I'm glad because I initially didn't really enjoy them that much until I listened to this album a few times. they really made a better album here overall and I'm sure the concept helped them to think of it. pretty atmospheric and swell overall

the fanbase is still kind of annoying though - the fanboys who believe the band can do no wrong and vehemently tell other people they're wrong for having a different and valid opinion. was annoying when CP came out, still is annoying now.

also connector sounds like "dead messages" by hail the sun at points
