staff duh

Doubt this is anywhere as good as you say Omaha. You're a good reviewer but your musical taste is goofy, nor nothing inspiringly original, not to offend

Ah yes, forgot that as a music reviewer, it's my duty to unveil my astoundingly original music tastes to this site

How is Jacob's taste any odder than anyone else's?

The main point I've heard over time is that I like styles of music most other music reviewers have grown out of, like prog metal and this breed of post-hardcore. Which is fair enough, but I do cover an array of genres of music on this site.

I don't think that is fair. This is the same site that periodically gets dominated by hip hop reviews (some times for horrible albums).

Hip-hop albums like Danny Brown? =]

Glad you dig this, Daniel. Does Kurt sound better on this album to you? His performance is more subtle here, I'd say.

Eh, I haven't checked Danny Brown. I have heard some of his stuff and wasn't impressed. But he is an example. I am not saying there are varied genres that wind up dominating the front page. I just think those that complain about ratings are being hypocritical.

XXX was fantastic, I liked old, but it was no XXX.

As for this one, I feel it's a lot closer to what ALLB was doing on their debut. and knowing how much I love the debut...

Convo piece just sounded too much like DGD for me. This is nowhere near DGD. It's great, actually. I'll have to give this a few more listens to solidify my rating but this is fantastic.

the vox are the same subject matter tom was spitting when he was in box car racer and people ate it up then too. i gotta downgrade, this too much emphasis on the lyrics not enough on the music.

in other news, i am embarrassed how long it took me to realize that "In Trances" sounds like "entrances"...and it's based on the foyer/entrance into the house...

I like Conversation Peace better. This album is lacking guitar riffs and catchyness but I still enjoy a few songs.

and yeah - while I don't really take much from your opinion on music Jacob, the review is well-done in that it sounds like you make all the right comparisons
