Idk if it's just me but I cant help but think the vocalist sounds very similar to the vocalist in Comadre

vox on this are actually really good yeah, but i feel like there was a little more variation in his approach on desperate peaks. plus his voice used to break all the time on that record and it made for a more emotional delivery imo. now he definitely sounds more mature, which is great, but i wouldn't say it's an improvement, just a change. this time around he sounds more aggressive, but the band doesn't always keep pace with his intensity.

been spinning this in my car the last couple days and its growing on me some but i still don't find that anything on it stands out much. a bit homogeneous but still solid.

The drums at the end of Spectral are so fantastic.

And now that you mentioned it I can't not hear 1979 at the beginning of Wildfires, not mad about it though.

My god, this album is absurdly good. I think it might top Desolate Peaks. I still haven't decided. Just enjoying listening to this as much as possible.

I still can't dig this guy's vocals...or this band really

i'll try to give it a few more spins but this band has never been more than white noise to me

Pretty similar album to Touche Amore's latest actually, at least in the homogeneous way, but I don't

really care about that. It's an individual experience, so I can take 40 minutes of it.

Or Norma Jean's for further comparison.

homogeneity matters a little less when your songs are under 3 minutes though

it's over too fast for me to get bored

Diamond Dust and Disintegration back to back is brilliant. Very enjoyable. Some well placed highs and lows.

The production is this is really great. What you talk about in the third paragraph as always kind bothered me with this band but I am enjoying this quite a bit. Which is exciting since it's been a while since I've been all to into a new post hardcore / screamo album.
