one of the dudes in this band released this album this year
https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/multiple/music_for_heart_and_breath/
a collection of his chamber compositions

it's pretty legit for a pop musician gone classical

I think it's just a classic 2-disk fail for me. I mean I really like it still. And I think after Suburbs

they really needed to change their direction because they just had explored pretty much everything the

could have done with their initial sound. But it's undeniably bloated and overly long.

This Album would be top 3 of 2013 though if the tracklist were something like this.

1. Reflektor

2. We Exist

3. Here Comes the Night time Part 1-2 (you could arguably even cut those)

4. Awful Sound

5. It's never Over

6. Porno

7. Afterlife

8. Supersymetry

i don't think changing the tracklist could've saved the album but it would indeed solve some problems. this starts to bore the hell out of me pretty quickly and that's a rather bad thing considering the album is 75 fucking minutes long

Well it would have not fixed it for you, but you didn't like the new direction in general.

I loved the new direction, I just think they cluttered the awesome stuff with pretentious stinkers. And

since even the awesome stuff is kind of slow moving and ambitious, that really doesn't help the album as

whole.

Tbh now that I think about Suburbs, it may have the exact same problem. (rococo, modern man, we used to

wait, half light I)
