stopped liking this band after plagues.... Mike's vocals are such a turn off. so monotonous and boring. Harsh vocals normally entice some sort of emotion from me, but Mike's just make me want to turn off the record...

Two stellar albums in a row, I can hardly believe it.

Review is mediocre, you focused too much on delivering your opinion and expressed very subjective ideas, some which showcase a somewhat limited view on music. You should try to be objective and impartial, and try to talk about the band members, tracks, flow and all the technical aspects of the album. Also, i agree that Mike Hranica is awesome but you didn't need to go ranting about it for 50% of the review - further evidence on biased writing.

I'm still stuck between 2.5-3 with this album, but only listened once. Kinda underwhelming how it played the first time, so i never came back lol.

nah. perhaps it's mostly nostalgia speaking here, but it was mike's strongest record in terms of vocals. anything after that he just sounded like absolute shit.

Well, i for one think that Mike has been evolving an awful lot, not that he was "worse" before, he just seems better now. He's just using less high pitch screams these days, but he's strong as ever. Best vocal performance imo would be on With Roots Above, Zombie or Dead Throne. On Roots he was more versatile, dynamic and aggressive, pretty much like on Zombie. On Dead Throne he seems to go more for emotion, and seems to present a new tone on his low pitch screams, which i also love.

Mike Hranica is one of my biggest inspirations as a vocalist btw. haha

well i just listened to one song from each of their LP's released since plagues, and i have to say i hate the production on the new records more than anything.

also the drums on plagues sounds weird but i love it anyway

Strugis uses bass drum replacement and shit like that. They dropped his ass after that album

he produced WRAABB if i'm not mistaken

EDIT: yeah i could tell there was some weird shit going on with them, i'm an amateur drummer so i have no real experience with mixing/recording and such.

in any case, they were quite audible on plagues which i liked.
