This album is much better than their debut album breakdowns aren't overused like most deathcore.

I don't know what this band magically did to not be deathcore anymore, cause i can't find it. I've
listened to the album 3 times. It's deathcore (i know that makes you self conscious) just fucking
accept it. It's deathcore it's not that bad obviously there are other
elements, but that's just influence not entire genre changing

For thing, learn what words mean. Self conscious is 100% not applicable to the statement you just made. Second, this band breaks all of the deathcore stereo types. This album is death metal with very very very slight hardcore influences. Deathcore is Death metal with metal core influences, which this band does not employ. Just because you think you have the ear for the genre doesn't mean you do. Maybe you should go listen to some actual death metal. Just because this band used to be deathcore doesn't mean they still are. And deathcore is literally the stupidest label you can tag a band with. Might as well call every grindcore band deathcore because they play breakdowns and slams and employ deathmetal elements.

it's death metal mixed with hardcore that is called deathcore.

and grindcore is a punk genre (despite what myspace bands claimed back in the day). Grindcore is my favorite genre. I actually do know everything about it, don't even challenge me. Grindcore is punk that grinds. Patareni, Repulsion, Napalm Death, Discordance Axis, Extreme Smoke 57. Those bands are not even on the same page son.

I mean this is no where near grindcore. It's like calling Ion Dissonance grindcore, it's just not true. It's deathcore with chaotic elements.

Listen to some "Autopsy" and tell me "Fit For An Autopsy" is still death metal... It just doesn't make sense.

Grindcore is hardcore punk mixed with death metal, not just normal old school punk. I know a lot about Grindcore as well buddy.
Second, your wrong. its still deathmetal mixed with metalcore, not hardcore.
Third, naming one band and saying hey this isn't deathmetal because this is, it totally ridiculous. The spectrum of death metal is absolutely insane. You cannot narrow it down to one sound. Lots of actual death metal band from when death metal was in it's prime played hardcore influenced music with slams that sounded a lot more like breakdowns, and this album is on par with that, about 95% of it is straight deathmetal. The breakdowns are totally not essential to the sound the band employs on this album.

yes that's what I said, grindcore is a punk genre (sorry subgenre). The death metal influence was
later on.

Dude metalcore is metal mixed with hardcore lol. How is hardcore not involved?

You can think this is death metal, but it's just not man. It's just not. Genre doesn't matter that
much though; i'm just telling you logistically. I still like the music.

P.S. the founding member of Autopsy (which is the band I used as an example and you attacked) was a
founding father of death metal lmao

I literally did not attack Autopsy. Where you got that I have no idea. All I said is there is such a massive amount of diversity in death metal that comparing a band like autopsy, which is not modern death metal by any means, to Fit for an Autopsy is a ridiculous way to pick and choose what is and isn't death metal. FFAA is marketed as death metal. They tour with death metal bands, and the only distinction musically between FFAA and traditional death metal is the use of "breakdowns" which bands like suffocation did back in the 90's and they were still death metal.

Yea dude i don't remember the argument i was drunk haha. But Suffocation and bands like that, the
style is just way different. I used autopsy as an example because they have maintained an old school
death metal sound since the late 80s with what I would consider little influence from the
"mainstream" extreme metal of any era They are a little bit more "Sabbathy" than some death metal
bands but they maintain a pure death metal sound.

It doesn't even matter that much, but i'm labeling this deathcore on my itunes lmao

Jesus Christ I can't stand it when people take the good deathcore like this, and label it as death metal because they don't like deathcore. This is fucking deathcore, it's so obviously clear. There is at least one breakdown per song, quite the bit of chugging, deathcore-esque vocals, blast beats etc. Listen to Mother of The Year, that song basically proves that this is deathcore.

He's got a point though. Deathcore is deathcore, no reason to say they're death metal.

This album is at least on par with Hate by Thy Art Is Murder, hope a good hadful of people come to hear this, it's well worth it.

that said, decent review, and agreed. Pos'd

Now this IS Deathcore, they seem to be more Death Metal oriented as of now and dem riffs go hard as fuck, way more technical and effortful. Joshua you said this hardly had any breakdowns, i don't even know what to say to that lol. And agree with wacknizzle, the genre hasn't been inhabitated by game changing bands lately, genre's pretty stale, always was a tough task to go out unrevealing new awesome Deathcore bands. It's getting worse with time though.
