yeah thats about right. like i would still listen to mewithoutYou and La Dispute if they had bad lyrics but i would like them a lot less. good lyrics can propel something good to great.

well yeah okay when you broaden it to "hip hop" yeah sure and i would agree, i mean like more pure rap, like nas telling me a story about selling crack in harlem or some shit, you kno?



i tend to agree with you tho, i listen to tons of hiphop but i lean towards more layered atmospheric production than anything and dont really care that those types of rappers only rap about lean or sumshit

I think I happen to be one of the few who lyrics are important. Most of the time esp when the lyrics are discernable I can't really say I have gotten into an album until I have gotten into the lyrics. That said, when I finally get into the lyrics and I find they suck, it wont reduce my appreciation of the album.



Okay after that mumbling I realized that good lyrics will mostly just enhance the enjoyment of an album. Bad lyrics, you can overlook if the music is great. Forget I said anything, skip this comment haha
