i already got crapcore and the first in it was Atreyu but they redemmed them selves with this album to me so now in the crapcore genre is...*drumroll* Flyleaf

Flyleaf is ifinitely better than Atreyu. God awful screaming loses any band debate, any day.
And for some odd reason, I like Flyleaf...so leave me alone...

Atreyu's screamer isn't very good but doesn't the drummer also sing? Well he sang the chorus for "The Crimson", one of my favorite Atreyu songs.

Yes, but he still needs more practice. On the songs I heard, he's really trying to stretch out his range, and obviously feels very uncomfortable doing it.

The drummer does sing, and he actually has a suprisingly good voice. I'd much rather here him than their awful screamer.

^^^I agree. He's better than the wretching screamer, who's almost as bad as Hawthorne Heights's screamer. But I can stand Alex a bit more.

I saw these guys at Taste of Chaos a few days ago and I have to say, the guitarists have some sweet riffs, but the rest of the band and especially the vocals, didn't do it for me.
Plus the singer was saying crap like "How are we doing here in the city of love?" and "Don't do drugs. Stay in School?"
I mean cmon, I didn't pay $35 to watch a Mr. T after-school special.

well, i'll get attacked for this, but i love this album. I find that Alex has a very satisfying scream and brandon is an excellent vocalist. This is so far the only metal-ish album i like. also, as much as you all might hate me for this, i also like Flyleaf, i bought their debut and this album within one week of eachother. anyway, atreyu, the solos on this album are really good, as is the guitar work in general, some of the best in my collection, but i thought that the solo in right side of the bed was the best i've heard, its just so catchy.

Thats cool. I want to watch Jurrasic Park whenever I hear Atreyu: I keep thinking the triceratops is gonna bust out a drum kit and the T Rex is going to start singing "Our Sick Story"

Nah, the T-Rex had better tone. Was also female.

I like this review, but what is a "tasteful" guitar solo?

The kind of guitar solo that fits and blends well with the music, it doesn't seem out of place and it adds to the feel of the song.

i bought the curse by these guys.
After that, i swore never to listen to Atreyu again.
However, you're first review was great, but i still wont pick this up soon. You might want to avoid things like "IMO" for future reviews though. but still, nice job.
