I just had a realization.....these guys are a shitty version of Mirrorthrone.

they really are using the orchestra as a crutch to hide the fact they have absolutely no variation in their songwriting

The orchestra itself sounds so synthetic as well

Which is really sad because their first LP was actually pretty good. Then they seemed to run out of
songwriting ideas by the time it came to write another. :/

Honestly I liked Agony the most out of their LPs. Mafia is still the best thing they've done by a long shot, but I was a bit of a sucker for Agony. The whole overblown symphony is just too samey here, at least Agony had variety.

This band blows. Zero songwriting or pacing, just an album of *EPICCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC* and fuck all else. As said before, Mirrorthrone is superior in every regard, especally since Gangrene is a great album.

Even though Septic Flesh has grown off me they are far superior to these.

Nah...its a near masterpice.
So much hate for this album. Its understandable I guess, but I dont care. I never thought I would like this at first, then I listened to it, then I loved it.

I had this at a 4.5 too but septic flesh is so much better.

I have never really been able to get into Septicflesh. I think cause of the guys voice, which I know is a stupid thing to be picky about in this type of music.
I think newer Septicflesh does have better production that this.
Production is actually the main downfall for Fleshgod imo.

Nah, this thing is stale beyond belief. I had this at a 4.5, but gradually going back to listen to it beyond the first time, I just kept thinking less and less of it.

It's really disappointing, I kind of liked Agony a lot. At least that had variety. There's no way they're gonna top Mafia though, unless they make some major changes to the formula.
