Dat dere genre arguing brings the lulz. Album is pretty safe and samey, but as bloc said they have
their own style nailed to a T. Need some more plays but probably a 3.5 with 'The Veil' as the standout
song. It's good, but not a really a progression from TITW. Still miles better than Karnivool's newest
for the simple reason that DLC actually DO know what makes their sound work.

This makes me feel as though you listened to Asymmetry once or twice then dismissed it completely.

Yeah I'm wavering a bit on my rating as well just because it doesn't really have the standout moments
or the staying power of the first release.

Glad we finally got past the pointless genre arguing when I woke up this morning. =)

This coming from the guy that made nonsensical replies to my review of it. Perhaps you should have
actually read the review. I wrote it after giving up on the album after about 15 spins. A record can
be hard to get into (Dir En Grey's Uroboros was some of the toughest), but Asymmetry just ended up
being a record that misses the mark. I have tried a few songs again, but I've no desire to listen to
it.

DLC's on the other hand easily has the same amount of spins, and I don't even have to bother to try
and like it. I just do.

Thought this would be worse than it ended up being. They definitely play to their strengths here. But I still think it's as you say here, "safe". Definitely no song on here like "The Design", that will remain my favorite from them. Good review!

I think my favorite was Tremors off their second EP.

That said, The Veil sound like what Cage should have been.

Great album; the only song I don't really care for is Stand Apart

...Um, then what exactly does it have? I haven't checked this out yet cause it seems so boring, just a rehash of the debut

Not that the debut was a bad record, but..

@kerf

Well if you liked the debut you should like this okay. Its definitely a grower. Bands don't have to invent the wheel on each new record. ...Like Clockwork is the best rock album this year but it doesn't do anything we haven't heard them do before.

I was expecting a song like Big, with a big chorus, but there wasnt. The album is ok.

Cynic fan above me eh?

Am I really that weird for thinking Big is one of the weakest tracks off This Is The Warning? I've never understood why people like it so much compared to all other goodness to be found on that album.

I don't know how to say anything productive because I'm a self confessed DLC addict. I've listened to a fair bit of music in my time and nothing makes me feel more bliss than this music. I just adore it and that's that! I'm not sure I can agree and call it safe because how can something 'safe' make me feel this good?

"Great album; the only song I don't really care for is Stand Apart" [2]

Good job it's only 2 and half mins long. Really felt unneeded IMO.
