AFAIK There's no inkling that they're even working on a follow-up. I don't even know if they've been touring of late. For all we know Karnivool might be over and no one's told anyone. :/
[edit] I just checked their FB page and their last gig was over a year ago - 23 May 2017. Their last gig before that was apparently 191 days earlier. I honestly think the Vool might be done...

Nah there's been too much new music performed live as well as studio footage for them to just sack the whole thing now. I think things probably got delayed back in 2016 with Kenny working with BoT on their latest and the lack of touring is a sign that they're finishing it up.
I have to believe this haha. But hey if they're done at least they fucking knocked it out of the park on this (yeah yeah I know it's not the general consensus but idgaf this album kills it)
