Fantastic review!

Surprised you didn't say anything "Virgin Dirt" though, that song has been polarized amongst listeners to say the least.

On first listen this is not as good as Fake History by a lot. The single is by far the worst song though. Why do bands always to that btw? Jason Butler is an awesome vocalist, however.

This album falls exactly at the crossroads of some of my favorite genre's: Pop, Post-Hardcore, Soul, Rock. It's also played by actual instruments, which I always like more than not. Good beats, choruses, and weird enough to make me feel like I'm listening to something original. But it's not so weird that it annoys me, it's got hooks.

Should we tell him it's actually played by four human beings?

Wow, people are talking about something I said, guess I should feel honored. No, actual instruments doesn't constitute a 5; blending a variety of my favorite genres into a cohesive album that I enjoy start to finish gets a 5. It's some of the best original music I've heard recently. Should I apologize if my tastes aren't edgy enough for you all?

letlive. - fake instruments. Well that is funny. I suppose I should have said "Letlive seems to have expanded their sound, while still retaining the basic band arrangement of string instruments and drums. On the new album they have created more complex textures and variety without resorting to programmed beats and synth filler tracks as is common with bands trying to overcome a slump in creativity".

there's nothing wrong with programmed beats and synths, but a lot of bands just them in gimmicky and annoying ways because they're just not good at songwriting. also, they tend to completely conflict with a band's normal sound, so again, bad songwriting.
