it has the same guitar and drum tones from this and continues in the same folky direction. sounds nothing like Dol Guldur imo
Dol Guldur with updated production is Nightshade

i meant in terms of 'takes me to the same place'. summoning's music is all about escapism for me, and where the atmosphere takes me, rather than what specific parts of the instrumentation sound like.

i gotta be honest though i don't really like the production on this new track, it sounds too sharp on the drums, i hope i get used to it
otherwise though it's a solid track

I actually like the sound production here. Also band is moving to a more fantasy-epic sound, not rusty-symphonic BM like Minas Morguls.

I like Minas Morgul but I cannot help but feel like it drags somewhat. Off of their last few albums Summoning has managed to incorporate more general points of interest imo. Hell Old Mornings Dawn might nearly be my favorite.

only summoning album that kinda drags is dol guldur, and really only the first half tbh

That may be an unpopular opinion. Considering I consider those 4 tracks pretty much tops of the discography.

don't get me wrong, they're amazing tracks but they're 2 or 3 minutes too long. they're all about that repitition I get that but on Dol Guldur it's overkill imo
