This is definitely a "grower" type album. Took me several listens to really get into it, but now I absolutely love it. The chemistry between these musicians should be even greater for their next installment. Cannot wait.

tbh i gave this thing several listens and it still sounds boring as fuq to me, and thats coming from a huge Isis fan

Holy crap I was so wrong about this. I just wasn't really as big an Isis fan back when I tried this. This is beautiful and elegant. Not Chino's best performance, but he blends well with the atmosphere most of the time.

My god Antarctic Handshake is stunning. They accomplished exactly what they wanted to do here: Make something solely elegant. The musicians collectively embraced Isis' softer side here and that's awesome.

Listened to this for the first time in a while ago this past week. I really dig it. I get the claims that it sounds like "exactly what you'd expect", because it kinda does, but in this case I.ail to see how that could possibly be a bad thing.

I hope so! Haven't heard anything though. Chino's likely fairly busy with the release of the new Deftones album in April. Palms has all the room in the world to grow, in my opinion. I think they're definitely going to get better in time.
