Sigur Ros does the dark thing so well. So glad the drums are back full force on this.

Me too. Imagine if they fleshed this out and released it as a double album, with a dark disc (Brennisteinn, title track, Hraftinna) and a light disc (Isjaki, Stormur, Raftstraumur etcetera). Like good vs evil, heaven vs hell. And then had LOTR kinda illustrations for the artwork and booklet. Oh god what if

Was really dissapointed by this.... only really dug the first track and t/t but otherwise it sounded to me like every other track was just a load of omnipresent and annoying vocals combinated with boring drums as well as poor instrumentation (then again I've always hated Sigur's vocals).

I'd say Agaetis and ( ) are better, but this is top tier for these guys. Tracks I initially didn't like at first have grown on me (Htafnntina).

Feeling the same, Anthracks. I'm not sure why this hits me so much harder than Aegetis or ( ) but i find it more beautiful and more powerful than both of those. This is the pinnacle of Sigur Ros for me so far
