Surely Josh Homme's ultimate ambition.

I agree. This album really sounds like where he's always wanted to be, if that makes any sense.

after listening to this album a few times I thought it was good, but not great, after hearing these songs live tonight mixed in with the classics, it really makes it feel like it is second only to Rated R in my opinion

Last paragraph sums it up very well!

it's a pretty fucking amazing album. I love that there's huge amounts of versatility here, unlike previous Qotsa works.
|
| |
They always have versatility i think, Rated R has a song as simple/silly/short but good as Feel good hit of the summer and then a great long hectic jam like i think i lost my headache (except for the fucking horns at the end) ... albums always have a great mix... only album I find blends together too much is lullabies

| |
I find this to be more diverse by a decent margin.

Really solid. For some reason I get bored of QOTSA pretty quick though, as hard as I try.

Maybe, I am just stupid but I don't get the appeal. I mean I really like a couple of their singles, but when I listen to the entire albums I get bored.
|
| |
you're not stupid Lillioness. At least you've given them a chance.
|
| |
you were just born with broken ears ... its a shame really

jk I always find that my favourite songs by bands are the ones noone likes and vica versa...
|
| |
Those horns at the end of Headache are unbearable, I agree. Hell, I brought the track into Audacity and cut them out.
