holy shit i didn't know that, new album in 2014. this is good news.

in regards to this album, i've been a dfd, pc, and el-creepo! fan for a good while now, and i have to say that this album is just fine with me. kinda awesome actually. going to see them with exotic animal petting zoo in a few weeks so i'll be rockin a semi-chub in anticipation till then

What a disappointment. This lacks the energy, creativity & diversity of previous Todd Smith works. I don't understand how everything sounds so stripped back & yet simultaneously the song-writing is lacklustre, in fact at times it's completely nonsensical. And that's the problem, it's nonsensical despite not feeling ambitious compared with previous releases.

Far, far too many instance of what's come before, many dialled in choruses (I mean Phantasmagoria, seriously?) and moments where it sounds like they've shoehorned in some generic electronics in an attempt to make it eclectic. Transistors of Mercy isn't a good track guys, not for PC, it's a standard, middle-of-the-road southern rock song with a random as anything electronic bit at the end because they couldn't conjure up a proper outro.

Rant over.

All the Kings Men is cool though, still feels a little 'by the numbers' & I wouldn't put it on either of their previous releases (quality wise) but it's enjoyable enough.
