Its very intricate. I feel like I find a few new things every time I listen to it.

I really don't get how people enjoy their previous works more than this. This album is so incredible as a whole, while the others come off as fairly disjointed to me.

this and collective are about equal, this may edge it out a little

i wouldnt say its disjointed, it just has more obvious peaks and lulls- all of which are enjoyable

Nah man, I listened to the collective a handful of times and there's just nothing holding it together. They still bring the talent full-on, but it's just not nearly as enjoyable.

I really like The Collective so far, but this was definitely more immediate.

Narrow Salient would be the best song on the album if it ended as epic as it started.

New Animals As Leaders? Better jam Scale The Summit.

AAL was great on their first album but I don't expect much after their second album.

That new AAL song was pretty boring. I found it to be less enjoyable than ANY Scale the Summit song, but that's just me.

I have only heard a few AaL songs, but I don't remember really liking them all that much.

its a shame bc i think they are a lot more popular of a band than StS. for instance i saw them tour with Meshuggah once. StS always headlines the tiniest little venue in my town (which is actually awesome bc i get to stand right up front all the time). There was a lot of hype surrounding the first AAL and i guess they just kinda maintained their popularity level

Ecnalzen, I love Scale the Summit, but the first AAL album is as good, possibly better than anything StS has done. It's that good, you should definitely check it out.

I still haven't had time to give the new AAL a proper listen, but topping their first album is a tall order.

Anyway this album rocks, atlas novus is soooo good.
