It seemed logical to me you were talking about an earlier Morbid Angel album, makes sense now that I see it's a demo. Have only heard their first four studio albums, not that one.

i would prefer not to get into the typical struggle that follows when i try to explain the true history of their forgotten album, but to sum it up, abominations was recorded in 1986 when mike browning was still in the band on drums/vocals, then he and trey got in a fight, he got kicked out, and the album was shelved indefinitely and eventually released OFFICIALLY in 1991 by earache to combat bootleg copies that had been circulating since it was recorded 5 years prior

so yes, altars of madness is still technically their debut album, but it's their second studio album

don't listen to what morbidangel.com will tell you (trey refuses to acknowledge abominations for what it is, presumably because he still isn't on good terms with browning), dig deeper and research the truth

i saw you were diggin altars for awhile so if you really dug that record, picture a purer, rawer form of that spiritual realm, a bit slower and more primal, more atmospheric and with more sinister vibes and you'll have a decent idea of what to expect

definitely make it utmost priority
