They're incredibly mediocre, lakes. You might dig them.

i got rid of /album/2011-2012 and it worked fine

production is already a bit whack, not a fan of the mixing on this track. so far i can hear the resemblance (on hurricane) but it doesn't strike me as overwhelmingly similar

Yeah just because I said anberlin would be proud doesn't mean they sound identical to anberlin but they definitely play a similar brand of music ;)

I actually didn't think the production was bad either

yeah less production, more mixing on hurricane. i couldn't even hear the vocals on the verses

i'm listening and it's not bad but nothing that great either. i feel there's nothing about this album (so far anyways) that really shines. he's got a pretty good voice but nothing spectacular, songs are a solid brand of that alt rock/ pop punk sound, etc.

Thanks for giving it a shot toxin. I was thinking it was more like a 3-3.5 but it really grew on me with repeated listens

@lakes i do feel like what you're saying is true, imo they're just the pinnacle of that brand of alt

rock, even people who are meh about the genre 3-3.5 them

np Atari, I think I liked "Boxes" or whatever the really singalong one was, and I'm liking Krystal

Ballz (what's up with that title) so far. I'll give this another listen after I finish it to give it

an honest chance

yeah boxes is a standout for sure. i'll admit some songs are much better than others but i don't really think any of the songs are bad.

of course you were but i still think there's truth to it

obviously there are dudes like faith no more but even if it's alt rock it's like a different genre completely

i should retract that and replace it with "the pinnacle of that brand of alt rock" cuz alt rock is way too broad

yeah the chorus of hurricane really bothers me, reminds me of what the graduate did on one of their albums, making choruses too understated so it never quite packs the punch it otherwise would
