i mean it's catchy. there are a couple standout tracks, but for the most part, this is very average. i can't see this as more than a 3. i remember when i bought this though what seems like forever ago. it definitely brings back memories

idk man i still love the first four tracks, between you and me and in the light.

maybe some of my hatred for this has to do with me losing my faith from the time i liked this to now.

foreverendeared, I totally understand your sentiments. I, growing up in a Christian conservative home, loved this album when I was like 8 and it was one of the first albums I really got into. I listen to it now, and it's just silly. But, it did have an important part in my early musical growth. And I will agree with the review on how it impacted Christian music today.

It's probably pure nostalgia talking, but I still like "Colored People" and "Jesus Freak".
|
| |
^same Jesus Freak is such a killer song
|
| |
Zipp3rmouth, really? A 4.5 for Dc Talk? I wouldn't figure the type of person to appreciate something so mediocre.
|
| |
ummm I have JFAC rated at 3.5 and AGATG at 4. I appreciate this because I grew up to it and I loved it a lot then. Maybe not so much now, but still.

Touche. I can imagine this being highly rated for either a) nostalgia's sake or b) it's influence on modern Christian music, but neither of these facts make it very good.
|
| |
Nostalgia's sake mostly. Personally I hate the christian music scene today, despite my beliefs. I mostly hate every thing about christianity except the religion. Irony.
|
| |
haha actually you're exactly right Zipp3rman. Christianity ain't what it used to be, nor what it's supposed to be. people who judge the Christian church today have no idea what real Christianity actually is. then again, most people calling themselves Christians have no idea what it's all about either.

this whole album is kick ass dude

I saw a man with a tat on his big fat belly
It wriggled around like marmalade jelly
It took me a while to catch what he said
Cause I had to match the rhythm
Of his belly with my head
'Jesus Saves' is what he raved in a typical tattoo green
He stood on a box in the middle of the city
And he claimed he had a dream
|
| |
lol christianity lol
|
| |
this is nostalgic
has nothing to do with religion you dunce
|
| |
sorry, the title "Jesus Freak" must've sent me the wrong message. That and the religious lyrics, and whatnot.
|
| |
