yes, but the concept necessitated the different styles. did people honestly expect so much variety in a regular studio album?

Agreed. And yeah, I think it's safe to say that-- it seems a lot of people expected this to be wacky, kind of in the vein of TDH's earlier theatrical works.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I found out it was a regular studio album instead of some conceptual thingamajig. I have liked it so far tho.

i actually haven't heard the acts yet :[ i need to. i'm keeping this at a 4 because the last couple
songs are a little too tame for my tastes. but i adore the first 7 tracks

Xenophanes, I think you're obsessed with telling everyone how average you found this LP. It's okay, though. I find you equally average :]

Lakes, I was told this was gay. And I can say that safely because Toxin.'s not part of this thread.

sweet naivete is so boring. nice sounding piano. but damn. this album definitely takes a big dip after track 7. and if it wasn't for girls i'd say it takes a dip after track 4.

Shame and Whisper are the tracks that standout most to me, still.

i don't think the Color Spectrum concept was silly. It's the reason it's a classic on here when each individual EP is nothing better than a 4.

The Color Spectrum was bat-shit crazy ambitious, and it actually worked.

"when each individual EP is nothing better than a 4."

You 'bout to get raped, son! White, Indigo and Violet were definitely higher than 4's, with Indigo being an absolute classic.

In agreement with Lakes on this one, first 7 tracks are gold. The rest aside from maybe "Let Go" is average. It's not really boring per se, just far less interesting.

Them iTunes bonus tracks are pretty good though.
