To me, this is better than the Acts and possibly even The Color Spectrum. I love the style in this album. More airy and free.

Only heard this through once (as background music, no in-depth), but it sounded pretty great. Gotta relisten closely

You must be insane if you think this is better than the Acts and Color Spectrum.

also people have been talking about how bad sweet naivete is and don't even mention how fucking awful The Kiss of Life is. It has by far the worst chorus I've ever heard Casey write.

Thankfully Whisper, Shame, Girl and Let Go are all fantastic and the rest is solid enough.

Ditching the conceptual narratives of previous LPs, progressive alt-rockers The Dear Hunter record a comparitively straight-forward album in 'Migrant'. While refined & restrained, there are still interesting dynamics, since the album feels as sparse as it is grandiose. Rich orchestral arrangements featuring strings & piano produce some lovely melodies, while the meticulously layered instrumentation rewards repeated listening. Lyrically & vocally strong, it's a shame that the later ballads feel borderline redundant - Some of the B-Sides from 'The Migrations Annex' should have been included. Recommended Tracks: Whisper, The Kiss of Life, An Escape & Shame.

Kiss of Life is great and the chorus is fantastic. Cycles is by far the worst thing here.

Ohmygosh Shame and Girl are amazing. Sweet Naivite is good, but the chorus kind of ruins how great the verses/intro
are. I like the Kiss of Life [2]

I at least like every song on here, but Shouting at the Rain and This Vicious Place can lose my interest every so often. They both have sections that make up for the more lackluster parts for me though, like Sweet Naivite. The instrumental bridge/solo/ending part on This Vicious Place is gorgeous.

Edit: I take that back; I pretty much like all of This Vicious Place. Don't Look Back is my least favorite and on the boring side.

This album still hasn't grown on me. It's ok but only a few songs are really good to me ex. Shame

Just in case anybody was wondering, these guys kick balls live!
I just got back from seeing them for the first time. Casey is probably the best live vocalist I've ever seen! Too bad they played in the worst venue in the entire state!
