For some reason I've never had enough interest to listen to this band.

They're one of my favorite bm bands around today.

Idk, I just always hear them mentioned with bands like Fell Voices (which I think is incredibly boring), so I haven't listened. The only band in that style I seem to really like is WitTR

Well a lot of people actually prefer Fell Voices to these guys (I'm not one of them, even though I love FV too) so you might not dig them. Never know though.

Ash Borer's S/T sounds like a more raw, aggressive Two Hunters without the shoegazy junk, so that album's something to think about. This one I like less because the drums are thunky and the rhythm guitar is too low in the mix.

I like this more the louder I listen to it.

I agree that it's their best, but I think you can easily start on any of their demos or their split, too.

Really? I think this is easily their worst. The recording style makes it all sound rather clunky, the lead guitar doesn't have, much power... :/

the song structuring alone is really awkward (they've never been good at writing endings), there's reverb all over the guitars bc ~atmosphere~ and bc they'd otherwise sound worse since they're so buried in the mix. Whole thing is just a mess. :-) They need to record the next one like the s/t so it actually sounds like bm instead of that half-sludge bunk they put out last time.

I will agree that the production/atmosphere was better executed on the s/t but I still love this and The Irrepassable Gate both lol.
