Honestly Taylor applies more than Lorde, just not for me personally

Then there’s the poptimist naysayers who hate that people hate that people hate music that is mainstream.

poptimism to me is like charli and crj
artists who were not at all taken seriously and had huge huge hits that got overplayed to death in the early 2010s that everyone grew to hate that pivoted and started making unapologetically capital p POP music (maybe selling charli a little short here lol) that doesn't entirely fit mainstream trends who then suddenly have huge cult followings with a disproportionately large male demographic who take them super super seriously
i guess melodrama maybe kinda fits this too but i remember pure heroine being genuinely thought of as a really good album upon release. absolutely wouldn't say JT is apart of that tho. wouldn't include taylor or lana in that either as they've always been institutions amongst themselves.

Definitely of the mindset that the new album is gonna be pretty good but only critics and diehards will like it.
Selfish is great and sanctified sounds like it will be great too.

Mirrors is one of the best pop hits of the 2010s.
Honestly only thing that don't hit on this is don't hold the wall.

Album Rating: 4.5
damn i love dont hold the wall lol huge highlight for me
the dips for me are suit and tie, tunnel vision, and that girl. they're all still solid though, but sub those out for tko, amnesia and not a bad thing and this gets the big 5 from me

hold the wall rules ^2
but no way substituting tunnel vision and suit & tie, over like let the groove get in? That's insane

I made a blend of the two albums back in 2013 and it still holds up:
1. Pusher Lover Girl
2. True Blood
3. Suit & Tie
4. Gimme What I Don't Know
5. Don't Hold The Wall
6. Amnesia
7. Strawberry Bubblegum
8. Murder
9. Tunnel Vision
10. Not a Bad Thing
11. Mirrors

"over like let the groove get in? That's insane"
absolutely not lol that song is so much fun and integral to the flow
tunnel vision is the best of the three but it overstays its welcome for me, and suit and tie's intro loses major points lmao
