Yeah it would make sense.
Another for me is Green Day. They're the first band I ever "got into".

Same! American Idiot was the first album I ever properly loved, but I got into Three Cheers much more
|

Same here, American Idiot was a turning point for me. Though I never enjoyed my chemical romance.

If i heard any of those albums again, but fresh I'd probably hate both. Nostalgia, eh?
My Chem, Green Day and Bowling for Soup were the first bands I truly got into

Listened to American Idiot last week actually. It's just not the same.
Slipknot, Green Day, Blink 182 and Nirvana for me.

There are brief glimpses of what I saw in them as a kid, but most of the magic is gone, sadly. Slipknot eh? I used to hate harsh music of any kind. Boy, younger me would be bewildered with my taste now
|
| |
Same haha. The amount of experimantal music/prog I listen to would confuse the younger me. He'd say "why don't you listen to more green day?"
Holiday is still a fantastic song though.

Nah, it's all about Jesus of Suburbia. I cannot listen to the t/t anymore and it makes me cringe whenever I hear it. It doesn't help that it's so overplayed.
hehe yeah, ignorant me would have been like "what is this? This isn't music, it's just sound!"
|
| |
"behemoth? You can't even hear what they're saying!"
Still love JOS.

"It's not catchy enough and it's weird. Where's the chorus?"
same. That will never grow old. Did you ever used to rave on about how long it was? haha wow.
|
| |
Yeah I did. And homecoming too.
"it's almost 12 minutes and I know ALL the words"

"wow, i'm so cool, I know a song that's 9 minutes long!"
|
| |
And now we're playing air drums to lateralus or whatever haha. I just liked something I could pump my fist to with a catchy chorus.
|
| |
Though I knew good lyrics from bad lyrics.

"Dearly beloved has such emotional lyrics, OMG"
Alright, but nothing special now
|
| |
I always liked dookie and insomniac too though. Insomniac is massively underrated in my opinion.
Still better than the "epic" trilogy.

Nimrod was the first ever album I bought. Damn, the memories on that. I never listened to Insomniac much, but I remember Brain Stew being really good and it having a messed up video
|
| |
I probably listened to insomniac more than nimrod and as much as dookie. 21st century breakdown was ok.

Didn't bother with anything after American Idiot. the next album took so long to be released that my taste had changed long before
