And my love for this band has gone down a lot over the past couple of years. When I first came to this site, I rated their album based on when I last heard them like three years ago. In more recent times I've given them listens and find them a lot more boring. I initially had Wormwood at a 4, then a 3.5, then a 3, then a 2.5, then I brought it down to a 2 before I had my ratings wipe. Continent is still a solid 3.5 for me, though. I did have that one at a 4.5. But yeah, TAS are one of those bands I listened to a lot a few years ago and grew out of them.
I still like them, but they're still a breakdown-infested shitcore band that plays in the same vein as Oceano and Emmure.

ahh i had a feeling that was the case. yeh tas are like that, but they did it in a way that was fun and enjoyable for a time
|
| |
continent for me is a low 4, maybs 3.8 exactly
but mostly i appreciate the way they were able to make good records using the worst tendencies in the dxc genre

MichaelSnoxall has just proven he is a hypocrite.
Good review, 28, crikey ain't that a lot.
|
| |
How have I proven I'm a hypocrite? I never said I didn't like The Acacia Strain. I never said they were a bad band. I said they are in the same group as Oceano and Emmure, etc when it comes to deathcore that just breaks down over and over and over.
|
| |
Yeah this isn't probably that good.
These guys make great albums for a casual listen. Other than that, i still prefer Emmure/Oceano.

technically couldn't Paul Reuben sue for that album cover?

Deathcore looks like the only genre with no really good artists at all. Might be wrong but is anybody here able to give me one excellent deathcore band?

people always point to the red chord or glass casket but even those bands are 3.3s at best so nah not really
Digging: Klaus Nomi - Klaus Nomi

Don't think I'll ever have to bother with this genre then (might try red chord out of curiosity)

The Red Chord and Glass Casket are great because they focus more on technicality and less on breakdowns. The Contortionist too if youre into more proggy stuff. The rest can foad

Who pioneered breakdowns? Pantera?

I hate prog unless its psychy, technicality can also be a trap into wankcore. Pantera are cool and don't deserve to be in this thread.

Pretty sure Suffocation pioneered the deathcore breakdown.
|
| |
pantera invented the breakdown? perhaps.

"Pretty sure Suffocation pioneered the deathcore breakdown."
Oh michael.
Sweet, sweet michael.
|
| |
*sigh* before you call me an idiot, learn to read. I said Suffocation pioneered the deathcore breakdown. I never said Suffocation pioneered breakdowns or invented breakdowns. Breakdowns have been around for an age. But whilst a lot of older metalcore uses more hardcore oriented breakdowns, modern deathcore uses the death metal breakdown pioneered by Suffocation.

Yeah thats what i was afraid of
|

agree with snoxall, deathcore bands are just ripping off suffocation most of the time
and animosity is another good deathcore band

Ripping them off is one thing but saying they were pioneers of the worst part of a shit genre is ridiculous
