This has quietly become one of my favorite records of the past decade.



I actually didn't like their debut all that much. It had that really tinny, self-consciously lo-fi type of production I dislike. I love how (in addition to the songs being more interesting and riding on the back of some hot drumming) it has this dark, gritty production on it - reminds me a bit of Number Girl on albums like Sappukei.

"Generational Synthetic" and "Shallow" are pretty much their peak to me.
