"i was the match that would fire up her snatch" is up there with "i passed a cow and the cow was brown."

Not gonna lie, "I passed a cow and the cow was brown" is one of my favourite lines just because of how terrible it is. It's even worse when it's followed by the line "and my pajamas clung to me like a shroud" (which I think rules).

Actually, aside from the really catchy opener and an insanely good closer, the album doesn't have any real gems. It's really a pleasure to listen to but when it's over you'll most likely be humming one of the two aforementioned tracks

The opener and the closer are by far my favourite tracks too, but 'Finishing Jubilee Street' is also pretty freaking awesome. And the end of 'Water's Edge' is like god-tier 5/5 material.

Just listened, great album. Don't like the opener at all but the second half and ending especially are really cool/laid-back
loveliness.

I don't understand this website. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are among the greatest currently active bands ON THE PLANET and yet they receive like 0 attention. Like with every Nick Cave album, each and every song has something about it worth listening to. A lot of people have been saying this has very few hooks, but to me every song has something i just love. i think push the sky away (the track) is the highlight though. just perfect.

edit: though i guess the album isn't officially out yet so perhaps that's why it's received little attention here.

Simo, also take into account that artists are just going to get overlooked in the long run. And you likely won't like the result of it getting a lot of attention.

My copy of this arrived in the mail today. I bought the limited edition copy, but I regret not going all out and getting the signed package with the LP as well.

Album artwork was apparently taken by accident when Nick Cave walked in on his wife's photoshoot

I don't think so. The artwork was definitely planned and it was taken in their bedroom. I don't think Cave accidentally doesn't know about a photoshoot in his bedroom and just decides he'll open the last curtain in the room, perfectly illuminating his wife as he stands there fully clothed and still managing to look sexier than her.

It's what he said in an interview I read. Also said he never dresses down which explains the suit

I thought it was a bit of a coincidence too

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm maybe he walked in on the shoot, then he's like, "Hey, let's do a shoot together for some sweet album artwork"
